We are the American Federation of Musicians,
Local 581, also known as Musicians'
Association of Ventura County.
With unity and resolve, we must engage in
direct action that demonstrates our power to:

• Organize musicians, extending to
  them the gains of unionism.
• Bargain contracts and otherwise exercise
  collective power to improve wages and
  working conditions
• Build coalitions and act in solidarity with
  other organizations who share our concern
  for economic opportunity

The American Federation of Musicians was
founded in 1896 and for over 100 years has
been serving professional musicians and
purchasers of music.  It is made up of 200,000
professional musicians belonging to 450
locals in the United States and Canada.  Local
581 serves Ventura County, California.
